About Tech
What is HOCl? The Efficient Pathogen Killing Machine.
HOCl (the scientific formula for hypochlorous acid) is a weak acid similar to that of a mild citrus juice that is made naturally by white blood cells in our body and is a powerful oxidant that is effective for healing and protection against germs, bacteria and viruses.
Although HOCl was discovered in 1834 by French chemist Antoine Jérôme Balard, it wasn’t until 1970 that generating HOCl by running electricity through a solution of saltwater was discovered.
HOCl is now used in healthcare, food safety, water treatment, and general sanitation.
HOCI AS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT USED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF VARIOUS SKIN DISORDERS
Studies of the use of HOCl in the treatment of skin wounds, pruritus, diabetic ulcers, and some inflammatory skin disorders has been supported by the NIH (US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health).
In several studies demonstrating both antimicrobial effects and therapeutic benefit in many cutaneous disorders, including seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis-associated pruritus, acne vulgaris, diabetic foot ulcers, and hypertrophic scars/keloids. Topical HOCl appears to be well-tolerated and safe, without any major adverse events reported.

It not only keeps you safe from bacterias, germs and viruses but great for wound healing, pruritus, and diabetic ulcers, as well as applications for the management of some inflammatory skin disorders, such as seborrheic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis (AD)

The Difference Between Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) and Sodium Hypochlorite (Chlorine Bleach)
There has always been a general misconception that Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) and Sodium Hypochlorite (Chlorine Bleach) are the same and are equally effective when it comes to killing germs, bacteria and viruses.
This Is Not True.
Hypochlorous acid carries no electrical charge, while Hypochlorite ion carries a negative electrical charge. Hypochlorous acid is able to oxidize the bacteria in a matter of seconds because it moves quickly and efficiently whereas hypochlorite ion might take up to a half-hour to do the same, this is due to the nature of germs surfaces which carry a negative electrical charge which results in a repulsion of the negatively charged hypochlorite ion to the area of the germ surfaces, thus making hypochlorite ion less effective at killing germs. HOCl is the least toxic and most sustainable sanitizer/disinfectant solution on the market for viruses. It is as effective as any sanitizer/disinfectant and a better choice than Chlorine Bleach or Quaternary Ammonium.
The ratio of the two compounds is determined by the relative acidity (pH) of the water. The pH level can be adjusted to make hypochlorous acid more dominant. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic. A pH greater than 7 is alkaline. Our Intellascend Sanitizer solution has a pH lower than 3, making it super-efficient as an anti-bacterial, antiviral and antifungal agent. The hypochlorous acid’s also lack of electrical charge allows it to more efficiently penetrate the protective barriers surrounding germs.
Under the Food Contact Notification 1811 (FCN 1811) The FDA has cleared Hypochlorous acid to be safe for use on meat, poultry, fish & seafood, fruits & vegetables and shell eggs as a no-rinse sanitizer.
The CDC recognizes electrolyzed water, also called “super oxidized water”, and the microbicidal activity of Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) in its guidelines for disinfection and sterilization in healthcare facilities
